Thanks to all who turned out to share in the energy and passion for improving the business climate and opportunities for women in Iowa! On April 18 when WBOs met with legislators at the Iowa Statehouse, NAWBO-CI called attention to what women-owned businesses need to achieve growth, and then celebrated the accomplishments and contributions of women. The Legislative Breakfast and Awards event began with breakfast, sharing and networking in the rotunda and then moved to a stately conference room. Our 2013 award winners were recognized and celebrated there. Lori Day, FocusFirst, Inc., and Rowena Crosbie, Tero International, spoke about the national American Express OPEN study that put Iowa in last place for economic growth by women-owned businesses and what could be done to move WBOs forward.

Women and Minority Business Book Camp One

What does it take to build a successful business? Interested in learning more about selling to the State of Iowa, the US Government or private companies? On May 17th, 2013 attend a special seminar for minority and women-owned businesses! ISED's Women's Business Center WBC has partnering with US Bank to bring renowned entrepreneur and speaker Beverly Browning to Des Moines. Dr. Browning will talk about diversifying your sales and strengthening your business. Representatives from the US government and the state will be there. 2013 Women Mean Business Summit

With a knack for taking charge and a passion for teaching, Lynn dedicated many years of her career to leading others in corporate America.
