General Description
The immediate Past-President shall:

Serve as a director;

Perform such other functions as agreed with the president;

Serve as chair of the nominating committee;

Serve as co-chair of the Corporate Sponsor committee;

Attend committee meetings as available; and
-
Attend coffees as available.
Work Experience Requirements:
Leadership and strong organizational skills essential. Est. 1-2 hours/month. Knowledge of Microsoft Office platform, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Professional, PayPal, web based reporting, registration systems and writing skills are recommended.
The nominating committee shall consist of 3-5 members (must be an odd number), including the committee chair (Immediate Past-President). The commit is to convene annually. Is is suggested that the committee have at least one long-term member and one new member. The current board should not serve on the nominating committee.
Election Procedure:

1. A call for nominations to be printed in the January/February newsletter to inform member of open positions.

2. The slate needs to be complete by March 1.

3. Past-President will introduce the slate at the March member meeting and will call for self-nominations. The March newsletter will also contain the nomination slate and will call for self-nominations with a submission deadline of March 30. Candidates will not be interviewed. Self nominators will be asked to submit their comments in writing regarding what they will bring to the positions to benefit NAWBO-CI.

4. Request bios from candidates once the slate is complete.

5. Candidates will be introduced to membership at the April meeting and may have an opportunity to speak. Printed copies of the candidates biographies will be distributed to the membership.

6. PR/Communications Director will send th election form to members via email on April 30, with a submission dealine of May1 5.

7. The outgoing President will notify all candidates of the election results.

8. Current installation date of new board members is June 15.
Voting Members: Only an individual who is a business owner as determined by NAWBO may join NAWBO as a voting member. An individual business owner who has been a voting member of NAWBO for five years and has subsequently divested his/hew ownership interest and/or retired from active ownership of a business may continue as a voting member of NAWBO provided there is no break in membership and the individual meets all other requirements to be a member of NAWBO in good standing.
