THE MISSION OF THE PUBLIC POLICY COMMITTEE:

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) has focused on public policy issues of national and statewide interest impacting women entrepreneurs and small businesses since 1974. NAWBO was a leading force in the White House Conferences on Small Business held in 1986 and 1995, and has an active presence on the Hill and with the White House to ensure that women business owners have equal access to opportunities to grow and expand their businesses.

CURRENT LOCAL PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES:

  • Increased federal procurement opportunities for women entrepreneurs
  • Fair and equitable tax treatment for small business
  • Retirement benefits
  • Access to capital and business technology
